PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GP PRACTICE BY FOLLOWING THIS ADVICE

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we have made changes to how you access our services. This is to help protect patients and our staff from the risk of infection and to help us manage increasing demand on our services.

IF YOU HAVE CORONAVIRUS SYMPTOMS which include either a high temperature or a new, continuous cough STAY AT HOME unless you are struggling to breathe or it is an emergency then you should call 999. You can also visit NHS 111 online at 111.nhs.uk/covid-19. If you have to call NHS 111 please be aware phone lines will be very busy but you must wait to speak to someone.

You do not need to contact NHS 111 to tell them you're staying at home. If you have symptoms, stay at home for 7 days. If you live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got symptoms. Find out more at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus.

ADVICE FOR ALL PATIENTS

  • Please DO NOT just turn up at your local surgery. All local practices have implemented a "total triage" system. This means that you must first contact your practice via telephone or online prior to turning up. if you feel unwell, call your surgery or complete an online form on your local surgery website called eConsult. We will ask you for information about your health concern. This is to help us prioritise appointments for patients most in need and stop unnecessary visits to the surgery.
  • Some GP practices may close their doors to prevent un-triaged patients entering the practice.
  • Pre-booked face to face appointments or pre-booked telephone appointments will also be triaged.  A member of our staff will contact you prior to your appointment.
  • DO NOT visit your surgery for repeat prescriptions. Call your surgery and they will arrange to send them electronically to your chosen pharmacy.

Make sure your vulnerable and elderly family members, friends and neighbours have the medication and food they need.

We are facing unprecedented challenges and our staff are working tirelessly to put in place national recommendations to keep patients and staff safe. We know this may cause inconvenience for some patients but we thank you for your co-operation and understanding at this challenging time.

    Thank you and stay safe
